| How to backup your Xbox360 games |

Backing up Xbox 360 games requires a special Samsung DVDROM and a DVD Dual Layer DVD Burner, along with some free-ware programs which we link to in this tutorial. Not all dual layer DVD burners are compatible with XBC, but if it is relatively new (<=~2007 onwards) with updated firmware then it should work fine. This tutorial will help you do your X360 and Xbox1 backup using Xbox Backup Creator v2.9 (build:0306) This new version of XBCreator will also burn you X360 Backup using the XBCr burning engine or with imgburn v2.3 by running Imgburn for you when it starts to burn to the disc. Windows 7 users need an additional file, DOWNLOAD the MSCOMCTL.OCX file from HERE and put it in your C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder. APPLE Mac users can use this program instead iBurn 360 RIPPING 1/ Open Xbox Backup Creator  2/ Select your ripping drive ie. Samsung SH-D162C/D, SH-D163B etc. 3/ Place your game in the drive, (It will show BYTES USED 5.32Mb) 4/ Select the DRIVE TOOLS tab and click UNLOCK DRIVE (BYTES USED will change to 6.81GB) 5/ Click the READ tab and ensure COMPLETE BACKUP is selected 6/ Press START, select the folder to save to and enter the game name. The read process will begin. 7/ When completed, you will get a 7,651,848KB .ISO (or 7.05GB) file and a 1KB .DVD file for x360 games. The .iso for Xbox1 will be 7,258,816KB (or 6.92GB).  8/ ALL DONE, TIME TO BURN. BURNING METHOD A: WITH XBCr ** 1-Open XBCr* , select XBC as burning engine  2-Select your burning drive , 3-Place a blank DVD+R DL the drive, and select writing speed (if the start button remains grey, you have not selected the proper drive or do not have a DVD +R DL in the drive) 4-Press Start , select the .ISO file you have just created (or the .DVD which will not make a difference here) 5-When completed, enjoy  **Not all burners are supported (but close  )BURNING METHOD B: WITH IMGBURN 1-Open XBCr* , select IMGBURN as burning engine  2-Select your burning drive , 3-Place a blank DVD+R DL the drive, and select writing speed (if the start button remains grey, you have not selected the proper drive or do not have a DVD +R DL in the drive) 4-Press Start , select the .ISO file you have just created (or the .DVD which will not make a difference here) 5-Imgburn will start and tell “You should have selected the dvd file…”, click OK 6-When completed, imgburn will close, enjoy VERIFYING A BURN You can validate that the burn was done with the appropriate layerbreak, booktype and that the image burnt corresponds to the image file on HD. The method is presented in the thread How to verify a burn . Note that this is not required and simply a validation. You can get XBCr from the link at the top of the thread and extract it in a directory, nothing more to do. Simply run “Xbox Backup Creator.exe”.
