The original Xbox console is pretty much a PC in a small black box. It has a motherboard, DVDROM, Hard drive, ATX style power supply, built-in Ethernet (networking), Graphics Processor, 766Mhz Celeron CPU and 64Mb RAM.

With the Modz Ultimate Xbox upgrade, you get everything you need to start using the Xbox's true power. It includes the best value for money, reliable and easy to use DuoX2 modchip, professionally installed by a High Reliability Hand Soldering (HRHS) qualified technician and guaranteed for the life of the console. It also includes the essential software required to gain access to the power in the form of an easy to use Graphical User Interface. This replaces the original 'dashboard' and presents a much more usable, direct access menu system, and totally customisable by the user with directly downloadable themes and skins.

We install Seagate hard drives as standard which include a 5 year manufacturers warranty, but we can also install any IDE hard drive you may have already and want installed for Xbox storage (+$10.00). Simply select what size suits your needs and budget from the drop down box below. We install anything up to 750Gb, or with the addition of the 'Xtender Kit' we can make up a hefty 2.25Tb (terrabytes) TERRABOX. Hard drive prices are at an all time low so you get a whole lot more Gig's for your dollar at Modz!

The Modz Ultimate Xbox Upgrade also includes the installation of the most up-to-date stable version of Xbox Media Center, a free ware program made by everyday people who all contribute to the program in different ways, releasing updates on a very regular (almost weekly) basis. This is a very valuable program which will allow you to really squeeze the best out of your Xbox console, playing almost all digital media types available. You can store all your movies, games, music (all formats incl. .mp3 etc), text files, digital photos, video clips, emulators (arcade games and old classic game consoles) and anything else you want to store all on the internal hard drive, making it the ultimate portable media device.

Other free ware programs are included that will allow you to backup your game discs to hard drive so you no longer require the disc (or even DVDROM) to play the game, simply select it from the new dashboard menu under 'Games'. Not only will your games load almost instantaneously (no more 'loading. . .'!!!) but you will also be able to store your original disc away safely and prevent any damage from making the game unplayable. Storing & playing games from the hard drive also has the benefit of not relying on the DVDROM, making it last many more years than one which plays games from disc.

Browse internet via Xbox Media Center built in web browser
View many popular 'scripts' i.e you tube, consumption junction, online comics, movie trailers etc.
Add disc and track information to your music and movies from the online database, which will automatically change the icon for that CD/movie to the appropriate image
Link one modified Xbox to another via a cross-over cat5 cable for 12mb/sec transfer of any files stored on the hard drive
Connect a USB device such as keyboard and mouse for much easier navigation of Media Center and web browsing
Play backup (copied) games, movies and music discs
Play ALL REGION Xbox games and DVD movies (PAL, NTSC, any zone)
Use as a jukebox for playback of all stored music or a particular folder, automatically on Xbox startup
Play ONLINE for FREE using Xlink Kai
(requires broadband and networked to PC where the Xlink 'engine' runs)
Change video output to PAL/NTSC, change aspect ratio
Use File Manager to easily copy, rename, move, transfer etc any file on the hard drive
Use Text Editor to easily modify any text file (including game files for cheats!)
